The output files from this application are *.sql files, therefore they can be run via svrmgrl or sqlplus on any Oracle platform.

The repcheck.sql file creates the replication_check PL/SQL procedure which sends a status email to one ore more DBAs if too many errors are generated by the replication process or if records are not being propagated between master replication sites. The replication_check procedure requires the existence of the UTL_SMTP Oracle procedure, which is only available in Oracle 8.1.6 and higher versions.

Oracle's Advanced Replication feature utilized by these scripts requires the installation of the Enterprise Edition of the database for production servers. For testing purposes, Oracle Personal Edition on Windows NT/2000 also includes the Advanced Replication feature.
